India Mining Week 2026 to be held in New Delhi from November 15–17, announces G Kishan Reddy
Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy announced that India Mining Week 2026, billed as the country’s largest conference and exhibition for the mining and minerals sector, will be held from November 15 to 17, 2026, at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi.
Organised under the theme “Stronger Resources, Smarter Mining, Sustainable Tomorrow,” the three-day summit aims to bring together policymakers, global mining companies, investors, technology innovators, researchers, startups and academia to discuss the future of India’s mining sector and strengthen international collaboration.
Addressing the gathering, Reddy described India Mining Week 2026 as a landmark initiative reflecting India’s growing confidence and global ambitions in the mining sector. He said the event would showcase the country’s mineral potential while promoting innovation, technology adoption and sustainable mining practices.
Highlighting the reforms introduced over the past decade under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the minister said measures such as transparent mineral auctions, commercial coal mining, accelerated exploration, ease of doing business and technology-driven governance have transformed India into one of the world’s most attractive mining destinations. He added that the country is adopting an integrated approach combining policy reforms, technological advancement, sustainability and international partnerships to address emerging challenges related to energy security, critical minerals and resilient supply chains.
During the event, the minister also launched the Online Portal Application for Registration of Coal Exchanges and the Eighth Tranche of Auction of Critical and Strategic Mineral Blocks, aimed at strengthening transparency and boosting private participation in the sector.
Minister of State Satish Chandra Dubey said the mining sector is becoming a key driver of India’s economic growth, regional development and employment generation. He noted that the government’s emphasis on responsible mining, transparent governance and technological advancement is opening new opportunities for the industry while making it globally competitive.
Coal Secretary Vikram Dev Dutt highlighted India’s transformation in the coal sector, stating that the country has achieved over one billion tonnes of coal production for two consecutive years while also crossing one billion tonnes of coal supply. He described commercial coal mining as a landmark reform that has encouraged investment, adoption of advanced technologies and global best practices, while reinforcing India’s energy security and industrial growth.
Mines Secretary Piyush Goyal emphasised the strategic importance of critical minerals in supporting India’s clean energy transition, advanced manufacturing and long-term economic development. He said the forthcoming eighth round of critical and strategic mineral block auctions would further strengthen domestic availability of essential minerals, attract investments and enhance resilient supply chains.
According to the organisers, India Mining Week 2026 is expected to attract more than 25,000 industry professionals, 500 exhibitors, 200 speakers, 300 mining and mineral companies, 1,000 government and PSU delegates and participants from over 50 countries. The event will feature more than 100 conference sessions, business-to-business meetings, technology demonstrations and product launches, with a special focus on critical minerals, coal, metals, automation, digitisation, mine safety and sustainable resource development.
The summit will include a high-level conference, international exhibition, leadership dialogues and technical sessions designed to facilitate investment, knowledge sharing and strategic partnerships. Organisers said the event is expected to play a significant role in positioning India as a leading global hub for sustainable mining and mineral resource development at a time when the country is accelerating investments in infrastructure, manufacturing and energy security.
