Standards

Editorial standards

How we report, what we promise readers, and how we use technology in our newsroom.

Last updated October 20, 2026

Independence

Our editorial decisions are made by our editors alone. Advertisers, sponsors and partners have no say over what we report or how.

Accuracy and sourcing

We verify facts before publishing and attribute information to its source. Figures from companies, exchanges and governments are reported as stated by them, and we say so.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and, where the error is significant, add a note to the article saying what changed. Write to feedback@energyasia.co.in.

Opinion and contributed articles

Columns and contributed articles carry the writer’s name and represent their views, not those of Energy Asia. Contributors must disclose relevant interests.

Sponsored content

Paid content is always labelled “Sponsored” and kept visually distinct from our reporting. Our journalists do not write sponsored content.

Use of artificial intelligence (EA AI)

Our articles are written and edited by people. EA AI, our in-house AI, runs on our own systems and powers limited reader features:

  • Quick read summaries select sentences from the article itself. EA AI does not write new text, so it cannot add facts that are not in the story.
  • Ask EA answers readers’ questions using only the article’s text, plus a clearly labelled energy glossary. It runs in the reader’s browser and sends nothing to us or anyone else.
  • What’s News briefs and In this story figures are drawn from the article’s own sentences and numbers.
  • Search and social descriptions are created from the article’s own text.

All EA AI features are labelled, and editors can review or change any of them. Reader data is never sent to an outside AI service.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with our response to a concern, you can raise a formal complaint through our grievance redressal process.
