Infineum inaugurates new blending facility in India to strengthen local supply

Infineum, a global leader in specialty additives, has inaugurated a new blending facility in India, marking a significant expansion of its local operations and reinforcing its long-term commitment to the country’s rapidly growing mobility and energy sectors. The facility will be operated exclusively for Infineum by LSR Specialty Oils, a specialist in high-quality blending and contract manufacturing for the lubricants and specialty chemicals industry.

Located in Patalganga, Maharashtra, one of the state’s key hubs for chemical and industrial manufacturing, the facility is strategically positioned within an established ecosystem known for advanced infrastructure and strong chemical processing capabilities. Its proximity to several oil marketing companies’ (OMCs) manufacturing facilities is expected to enhance logistics connectivity, strengthen supply-chain resilience and provide direct access to major industry networks.

The new blending unit is designed to expand Infineum’s local footprint, enabling greater supply reliability, quicker response times, and the delivery of solutions tailored specifically to India’s operating conditions. It also includes provisions for future expansion, including the potential development of technology hubs, advanced blending capabilities and deeper localisation of manufacturing.

The inauguration coincides with the launch of Infineum’s refreshed global brand identity, reflecting the company’s evolving role in supporting cleaner mobility, improved efficiency, and sustainable growth. The investment aligns with India’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat” vision by promoting local production while strengthening domestic skills and capabilities within the specialty chemicals and lubricants ecosystem.

Harshad Jambaulikar, General Manager for Infineum India, described the development as a major milestone for the company’s operations in the country. He noted that the facility significantly enhances Infineum’s ability to deliver reliable supply, shorten lead times, and respond more efficiently to customer needs. According to him, the site has been designed to support the majority of Infineum’s India business for years to come, with the flexibility to scale further as market demand evolves.

Infineum CEO, Aldo Govi, highlighted India’s growing importance in the company’s global strategy. He said the commissioning of the new blending facility reflects strong confidence in India’s long-term potential and underscores Infineum’s commitment to contributing to the country’s mobility and energy ecosystem. He added that the investment will help expand production capacity while enabling the reliable delivery of high-performance additive technologies.

With the new facility, Infineum aims to strengthen its presence in India while building a foundation for future innovation, deeper localisation and long-term collaboration within the country’s industrial and energy sectors.
